Mini Sessions Carlsbad - Limited Edition Fall Sessions 2020

A lot of you are contacting me about fall sessions. I have not had the chance until now to sit down and work on dates and locations. I will be adding ONE MORE location and additional dates. But so far, this is what I have.

BEACH LOCATION - This is my new favorite beach in the universe for photos. It is very tricky though, as I can only shoot here very few days each month because of the tides. Unless its a super low tide, this spot is not accessible. So….. I have researched all the right dates to create beautiful beach portraits for you! The location is in Carlsbad, and you won’t be disappointed!

FIELD LOCATION - I’m also holding some sessions at a gorgeous field location in Carlsbad. You’re going to love it!

Mermaid Themed Cake Smash Session by San Diego Photographer

I cannot get enough of this cutie pie! She was a little hesitant initially, but we had a blast for her mermaid-themed cake smash photo session warmed up! Mom chose three beautiful backdrop/outfit combos. I love every one of them!

We started with a traditional ivory and pink rustic floral backdrop. I have several cute dresses in the studio that match this set.

Mom loves to bake, so we had to include a baking theme! I have this whole outfit combo in the studio for clients to use. Mom brought her own mixer (I don’t own one of these bad boys), and I provided the rest of the props.

And we wrapped up the session with a mermaid theme! I have this outfit in the studio as well! It’s so darling on the little girls. The mermaid theme was perfect in these pretty shades, and she loved her cake.

This little one was such a cutie for her session! I loved working with her sweet family. Gahhhh, that gorgeous hair! She was so adorable. Her family chose not to include a cake smash for the session - but we captured her first year portraits beautifully. I love carrying a beautiful studio wardrobe, so that my clients have nothing to worry about. They just bring me their sweet and cute kiddos!

Six Month Milestone Session - Children's Photographer Encinitas

I just love seeing my clients come back after their newborn session at the studio. William’s parents brought him back to me for his six month session, and we’re planning his one year cake smash session now! Its so fun to see these kiddos grow! This guy was SOOOO smiley! I loved working with him again.

Mom and dad brought a traditional tartan that they used in his newborn session, and now his six month session. And we had to do some “beach” style photos as well. Loving the sunglasses! How cute!?

Sweet Six Month Session - Mermaid and Tropical Hawaii Theme

I ADORE six month sessions. At six months baby is usually sitting up assisted or unassisted. And they are just SO SWEET at this stage! By one year they are usually crawling and walking and the get away fast. At six months they don’t go too far yet.

I love the themes that this little one’s parents selected. We did a mermaid theme, and a tropical Hawaii theme!

Alice in Wonderland Cake Smash Session

Where are all of my Disney lovers out there?! This family are all huge Disney fans, so when they contacted me about an Alice in Wonderland theme, we made it happen! Mama also had a Minnie Mouse dress she wanted to have in part of the session as well. How darling are these sets!? I had so much fun putting this together for them. Three Month Session - San Diego Baby Photography Studio

I usually encourage parents to bring baby to me when they are still under two weeks, or at least in the first month, if they want newborn style images of their sweet babies. But I know that cannot always happen. I would never turn away a client just because baby is “older”. I do, however, have to set expectations with the family. At three full months old, I usually cannot get sleep curly newborn style images.

Sweet baby Hannah didn't fit the mold for a three month old baby girl. She slept for a chunk of her session and we were able to get some darling awake AND asleep shots of her. At this age if they do sleep I can usually only get them in one prop, asleep. Moving them usually wakes them. But she let us move her! It was definitely challenging, but SO worth the patience. I mean, how you can you resist these sweet images!

Oh and please take a moment to appreciate the best baby eyelashes I think I've ever seen! <3

Del Mar Maternity Beach Photographer

It was such a pleasure photographing this beautiful family. I can’t wait to meet baby sister in the coming weeks! We shot at the beach in Del Mar - one of my favorite spots because of the assortment of succulent gardens, and dramatic cliffs!

One of the benefits of working with me as your photographer - I have gorgeous maternity dresses in my collection. These gowns looked AMAZING on mama. Both are by Chicaboo, a local maternity gown company. I worked closely with mom to coordinate all the outfits. Big sister was able to borrow my white children’s Chicaboo gown to wear during the session as well. She felt like a princess!

Newborn Safety

When working with a newborn photographer, its a good idea to know how long they have been in business, and if they understand newborn safety. I have been photographing newborn babies for almost 12 years and I have extensive experience with safety and training. I’m Infant CPR certified and I always keep safety in the forefront. Not every baby will go into this pose. Although I will try, I won’t force baby into this position. When I do get this shot - I love it and parents do too!

This pose is called the “Froggy Pose” in the newborn world. On top of spending 2-3 hours with each family during baby’s session, a lot of the work is done after you have gone home. I am very experienced in Photoshop to achieve these poses, created as a composite image. Two images merged into one final image. Here’s an example of how its created!
