In addition to running my portrait site, I also shoot weddings!  You can view my wedding work at www.lovelyyouphotography.com.  I am just entering my busy wedding season and I will not be available for any weekend family/newborn sessions in June or July.  I do have a few open spots in August, then I get busy again in September.  I do have weekday/evening sessions available though!

I also wanted to share a few images from a couple that I have gotten to know over the past few years.  I photographed their beautiful daughter, and have done family portraits for them a few times.  They are the sweetest family… and they recently “tied the knot” at a intimate civil ceremony at the Registrar’s Office in downtown Sacramento. I feel so honored to work with return clients, and to capture so many happy times in people’s lives.  I love that I was able to capture their elopement, and I am excited to work with them in the future also!  Best wishes you two!

Wow, I had SUCH a great time second shooting Angie and Nick’s wedding in South Lake Tahoe yesterday.  I shot with an amazing photographer Emily Main, based out of Reno.  I had such a good time getting to know her also.  The couple were SO beautiful, and the groom was quite adventurous.  During the bridal party photos at the golf course, he and his groomsmen took off their shoes and sock, rolled up their pants, and went for a wade in the creek for photo!  Images below.

I had a week long family vacation in Monterey a few weeks back (blogged below).  The first day of our trip, I did fit in an engagement session for Maureen and Fernando.  They are getting married in October in San Jose, and they agreed to meet me in Monterey for their shoot.  We were going to walk around Old Town and capture some photos there, but the home that we were staying at was just gorgeous.  So we did the shoot in the backyard and front of the house.  I cant wait to shoot their wedding!

I am so excited to be second shooting so many weddings lately!  I shot my first wedding for a family member in Lake Tahoe, CA back in May 2010.  Since then I have found three talented photographers in the area that have hired me to second shoot with them, and it has been such a great experience for me.  All three have allowed me to use images for my growing portfolio, and I have made the decision to launch another photography website, Lovely You Photography!  I will continue working with newborn babies, children and families, as I still LOVE portrait work.  I want to have a separate site featuring JUST my wedding work, plus “Lovely Baby Photography” does not really work well for weddings.    I am shooting my 8th wedding in Lake Tahoe in a week and a half – so I will be launching my new site and blog later this month!  Stay tuned!!  In the meantime, here is my new logo and some marketing materials, all designed by me (I am also a photography logo designer / branding designer – take a look at that site, Lovely Ink).

I had the opportunity this past weekend to shoot a wedding here in Sacramento with Colleen Sherman, for Emily Main Photography.  They are both SO talented, and are both two of my new favorite photographers.  The wedding was at a gorgeous church in Sacramento on L Street in midtown.  We had some time after the wedding with the bride and groom, which was a great opportunity for some interesting shots.  The reception was at the Library Galleria in Sacramento, which is a gorgeous venue.  Tessa, the bride, owns a cake shop in Sacramento called The Frosted Cake Shop.  I think I’ll be using her for my next family celebration coming up.  Super cute cakes!  I was able to spend some extra time with the groom, Brett, which I normally have not had the opportunity to do while second shooting.  Here are some great images from the day!

I had such a great time yesterday at Vivien and Jason’s wedding in San Francisco.  She was an absolutely gorgeous bride, and I loved working with them as a second shooter for Scott Fischbein.  The ladies got ready at the fabulous Intercontinental, Mark Hotel in the California Suite (huge and full of amazing light!).  More images of the ceremony and reception, coming soon!

I am so excited!  I had a CRAZY weekend May15/16.  I photographed my first wedding at Lake Tahoe on Saturday, and then photographed my first birth (post below) on Sunday night.  It was a whirlwind and I loved every moment of it.  I have a few more weddings booked for the summer, so I’m very excited about this new direction.  Here are a few below:
